No, first time participants must submit a Flex Peak Application, but are automatically re-enrolled each year. An existing participant will have the opportunity to make changes during the pre-season re-enrollment process.
Customers are only required to submit one application, customers with multiple facility sites can list all of them on a single application.
Call or email your Idaho Power energy advisor or the Flex Peak program specialist at 208-388-5377 or flexpeak@idahopower.com. You’ll have the opportunity to update contacts on the Auto Enrollment Form prior to each season starting as well.
A cancelled event does not count toward one of the three mandatory events or the seasonal hourly limits, customers would still be eligible for the fixed incentive if they held a nomination for that day, like the other days during the program season.
A five-day week, in alignment with the program’s incentive calculation formula.
Fill out the Flex Peak Nomination Change Form and submit it to flexpeak@idahopower.com. Changes may be made daily, weekdays before 2 pm to go into effect the following day. No, this payment is only implemented if we have more than three program events. The program requires a minimum of 3 events each season.
Participants enrolled in the program will receive an incentive check or bill credit toward their Idaho Power account no later than 45 days from the end of the program season (September 15). This payment will include both fixed and variable payments as applicable for the entire program season. Participants receive tailored reports following each event detailing their performance along with a comprehensive season-end report detailing their performance and incentive payment.
Participating businesses use a variety of tactics to achieve their load reduction, ranging from small changes like turning off lights to idling large-scale manufacturing processes. You can view an overview of common load reduction tactics by industry here or work with your energy advisor to identify opportunities.
When Idaho Power anticipates the need for an event, participants will be notified by phone, email and/or text message four hours prior to the event start time.
Once you receive notification of an event, you can begin reducing energy use or shutting off equipment. By the time the event starts four hours later, facilities should have reduced their energy use to their nominated amount. Facilities are expected to maintain the load reduction for the duration of the event, typically two to four hours.
Participants may find the program easier to manage by pre-programming a load-reduction strategy into their building-management system or by turning off a piece of equipment automatically. This strategy (or shut down) is initiated by the Idaho Power provided demand response unit (DRU) when Idaho Power calls a load-control event.
New for 2025, Idaho Power offers an incentive of up to $1,500 to cover costs associated with implementing the automatic dispatch option at a facility. This incentive is in addition to Idaho Power covering the cost of the installation of the automatic demand reduction device. Curious if automatic dispatch is an option for your business? Call or email your Idaho Power energy advisor or the Flex Peak program specialist at 208-388-5377 or flexpeak@idahopower.com.
